Xavier Sirven

Born in Drancy near Paris in 1980. From 1998 to 2003 he studied computer science at the TU Compiègne, specialising in cultural industries. In 2007 he decided to devote himself entirely to film and studied montage at La Fémis. His feature films, documentaries and art films won several prizes, including the Magritte for Soy Libre. Xavier Sirven has taught at La cinéfrabrique (Lyon), Cinéma 93 (Paris) and ECAL (Lausanne). He has also directed four short films; he is currently writing his feature film debut. He lives in Die, a pre-Alpine community in south-eastern France.
