Marie Leuenberger
Actor
Born in Berlin in 1980. Her first experience of acting was at the Youth Theatre in Basel. When she had completed secondary school she studied at the Otto-Falckenberg School of Drama in Munich. After graduating in 2002 she was employed at various theatres including the Residence Theatre in Munich, Basel Theatre and Stuttgart State Theatre. In summer 2005 she was awarded the Armin Ziegler Foundation’s Youth Prize. Since 2005 she has been acting at the Hamburg Playhouse. In 2007 she received the Friends of German Theatre Youth Prize. She received the prize for best actress at both the 2009 Festival des Films du Monde in Montreal and the Festival Cinema Tous Écrans in Geneva for her cinema debut in DIE STANDESBEAMTIN by Micha Lewinsky, as well as the Swiss Film Prize «Quartz 2010» Best Actress. 2017 Swiss Film Award, Best Actress in THE DIVINE ORDER by Petra Volpe.
