Cécile und ihre 10-jährige Tochter Marion erstehen am 1. August irgendwo auf dem Land nahe der Waadtländer Gemeinde Aubonne einen alten Ford Taunus Break aus den 70er-Jahren. Die Strassen sind jedoch viel länger und hindernisreicher als es scheint, und ihre Reise verzögert sich immer wieder. Vielleicht, wenn all diese Probleme einmal gelöst sind, steht Cécile und Marion der Weg offen – bis zum Mond.
