Der Film erzählt von den gekreuzten Schicksalen der Mannschaft der Alba Angela, einem illegalen Fischerboot, und des illegalen Einwanderers Ahmed, der an Bord eines Schiffes lebt, das schon andere Einwanderer zur Küste Siziliens brachte, bevor es zu seinem Zuhause und Gefängnis wurde. Ein Porträt über die Gleichgültigkeit gegenüber dem Einwanderungsdrama.
