Drande lebt mit ihrer Mutter am Rande einer kleinen albanischen Stadt. Sie kümmert sich um das Land, das sie besitzt. Zwei Pappeln sollen gefällt werden. Drande ist eine Burrnesha. Sie hat das Leben eines Mannes gewählt. Als Mann fühlt sie sich frei und unabhängig, muss sich aber einigen Schwierigkeiten stellen.
